The conversion rate is terrible if it's the former, since you need to redeem 100,000 miles for a base fare of SGD 1087 (barely one-way Y), whereas the same 100,000 miles is enough for a one-way in suites Europe-SIN...
My understanding is that it will work both ways, so when a ticket costs 1087 and u have 50k in your account you would pay 543.5 cash if u choose that route. Whereas for an award redemption you pay with miles and the balance will be as per the conversion above.
That conversion rate will fluctuate a bit given forex changes but not a whole lot.
