With the NH relationship, having 2 787s on the route is probably right in terms of capacity. While some will miss a three-cabin F product, the truth of the matter is that the market likely cannot support such a service, as two of the three carriers on SEA-NRT (UA, NH) offer a three-cabin F product on other aircraft but have chosen to operate with a J/Y layout instead.
Through its metal-neutral JV with ANA, UA is offering more capacity in the NRT-SEA market than ever before.
