Staying OT and for personal interest, what language are the evacuation orders given in?

I remember taking a lightly loaded TK 738 from SIP to IST a couple of years ago and being pleased to be given an overwing exit row to myself and then surprised to find another 3 brits manning the rows behind and across the aisle. When we looked around, we reckoned we were the only 4 people on the plane who had English as a first language and we were speculating that in an emergency, the commands were given in English hence where we ended up.
