I just tried the Szechuan chicken with wok fried vegetables, and it was, as Michael Winner would have put it, historic... not as in "I had a bucket of red gloop from the buffet and it hit the spot", but a truly enjoyable dish of depth and complexity that I would have ordered again in a restaurant (and I've never said or thought that in here before). In fact, if I hadn't weighed myself this morning, I'd have ordered another serving right now. The chicken had enough Szechuan pepper to tickle, but not numb your tongue, and the vegetables (peppers, red and white onions, etc, served separately) were beautifully caramelised and tender. I told the waitress it was by far the best food I've had since they changed caterers, and she confirmed that it's all freshly cooked. It really does show - do try it!
Good to know. I had this dish back in May and it was average to say the least. All the "flavour" came from too much pepper. The vegetables were very good though.
I'll give in another try based on your recommendation
