UA and SQ have interline agreements (and are part of the same alliance) so yes, UA is able to set it up so the bag is transferred through LAX automatically all the way to PEK. You'd have to show your confirmed onward PNR on SQ. Whether the UA agent will actually agree to do so is another matter. At the origin, get to the check-in area extra early since you'll need time to be manually processed by an agent (no online and no kiosk check-in) for this to happen. Hassled agents faced with long queues for check-in may refuse just to take the course of least action.
