I generally agree with the suggestions by the above two posts. In Thailand, besides Bangkok, Chingmai is very nice. In China, if you like the historical sites, definitely add Xian. If you like big cities and modernization, then go to Shanghai. As far as I know, if you manage your time well, three days should be enough to visit Beijing.
