maybe it's different in PRC, but in Thailand or Malaysia, it's kinda a 'you bought it, you own it- choose carefully because you're not bringing it back' mentality. where, pray tell, are you talking about? and, could i trouble you for an example?
It used to be much easier, but electronics at major department stores always had a nice return policy. A few stores changed it after clever Chinese took real parts out from the inside of products and replaced them when cheaper ones. It's still possible, but not worth it since I'm in the US once a month or so and can just buy VRs
