I mean, clearly that passenger didn't make a fuss, so either he thought it was reasonable, or he was not as vocal as a lot of us would be.

As an E35K, I'd probably accept that if it was a gate upgrade. I would express my displeasure, but I would accept it. Any other situation, and I'd seriously consider just refusing to vacate the seat, unless there is a promise of reasonable compensation.
