You probably have a confirmation # from a travel agent that doesn't use SABRE, the system that LAN uses. The TA will have the LAN conf. # in its system.

Also, if you cut/paste from a different screen onto the LAN site, and if you have pasted some blank space, LAN will have an issue with it and not find your res.
