Do take care on this route. It is notorious for high-speed collisions, caused probably by either a) tiredness and/or b) forgetting the right lane.
I was going to say something similar about the A9 but didn't want to sound negative.
My wife did the driving and I had to constantly remind here when the road went from being dual carriageway to single carriageway.....which happens quite a lot on some stretches.
