It seems you are refusing to do this, and want to just yell at US Airways and bully them into giving you some meager compensation.
Submit the info on the link they gave you. If you THEN get denied, I can see being frustrated, but you havent done what was asked of you yet.
This is sort of like going to a hotel that has a third-party restaurant in it, and not having a good meal, and then yelling at the hotel. I understand that it *should* be USAirways that is ultimately responsible for their subcontractors, but in this case, they're saying "file a report here" at this link. Do it.
OP mentioned he feels link for receipt is useless, because it requires a receipt number which he does not have.
As far as annoyances, I'd say the light and smudge on a seat are pretty minor though. I think OP would agree. I think he is more upset with their reaction, and unwillingness to do what he feels is "the right thing"
Off topic: I'd of gladly taken the dirty seat to the smelly FC seat I had the other day. (Def thankful for the upgrade though). The prior Pax must have ran 6 marathons and skipped showering!
Btw: this is not something that I would tolerate in my home...
