baggage allowance after layover at ICN for a few days
Hi there,
I have an award ticket like SFO-ICN-PEK and both segments are with OZ.
OZ has two different systems of baggage allowance, one is for transpacific (e.g. SFO-ICN) and allows 2 pieces (each less than 70lbs if booked biz class); the other is for intra-Asia (e.g. ICN-PEK) and allows 66 lbs in total for business class (110lbs for Star Gold member).
I know if I fly on SFO-ICN-PEK without a layover in ICN, the rules for transpacific travel would apply. However, if I had a 4-day layover in Seoul, which means I need to picking up the baggages on the arrival day and re-checkin them on the leaving day, do the rules for transpacific travel still apply to the 2nd segment? Since there are 40 lbs difference in allowance between one another even with *G, it sometimes really matters.
Thanks,
Yi
