Indeed, from the airport, about three hours non-stop and making a good pace, which is not guaranteed. If you have not done the trip before, the straightforward and obvious A9 route is scenic enough, but by all means take another on the return!
Do take care on this route. It is notorious for high-speed collisions, caused probably by either a) tiredness and/or b) forgetting the right lane.
