how did he book the room????if he booked it through a third party then neither him nor you are entitled to any credit....
if he did book it through spg or directly with the hotel then you will get the stay credit & elite benefits if you stay & pay for the room....

if the room is charged to his card then you don't get the credit....to make this work you would have to add your name & spg number to the reservation, check in yourself & finally pay for the room yourself....
