The 747's have changed a bit since this post... they are all installed with flat bed seats so your suggestions are out of date. Instead of 2/2 it's now 1/1 on the UD and 1/1 in the forward cabin (except last 2 rows which are 1 / 1 / 1
I prefer 1 A/B to the 2nd BE cabin, more "private" feeling.
