Today Hawaiian Airlines has announced that they have signed a codeshare agreement with China Airlines. Here are some of the highlights of the agreement.

- Will begin in late 2013

- reciprocal partnership that will allow their respective frequent flyer members to earn and redeem miles for travel on either carrier.

- Hawaiian to place its two-letter booking code on China Airlines flights leaving Taipei for Honolulu on Sundays and Honolulu to Taipei on Mondays; flights from Taipei to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore; and flights from Brisbane to Auckland and Sydney to Auckland. This agreement will also allow seamless booking and check-in on a single ticket for guests traveling between Hawai'i and multiple China Airlines destinations throughout Asia.

- China Airlines to place its two-letter booking code on Hawaiian Airlines flights leaving Taipei to Honolulu on Mondays and Fridays and Honolulu to Taipei on Sundays and Tuesdays; flights from Honolulu to Las Vegas, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento, San Diego, San Jose and Seattle; and all inter-island flights.

-In addition to the code share agreement, the airlines also have completed an interline agreement that allows for seamless travel to additional destinations in Asia such as Okinawa, Manila, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, and Jakarta. Through the arrangement, travelers can book single-ticket travel combining flights on both carriers and also enjoy one-stop check-in with bags checked through customers' final destinations.
