I think some people have a very naive view of human nature, you only have to take the many examples on FT of people trying to exploit the system to their advantage.
I know this is unlikely to happen, as society is set up to help the greedy and lazy to become even more greedy and lazy, but the system should be that punitive measures are the domain of regulators and compensation should be limited to no more than the actual financial loss occurred by the claimant.
This might put a few lawyers out of business but why shouldn't they be subject to the real world like the rest of us.
