I booked three tickets for my family using a UA gift certificate bought from ua.com before. later, I canceled the booking because of a schedule change. My credit card got refunded, however, UA refunded me three separate gift certificates (the total is the same as my original one). They claimed the gift certificate was split during my canceled booking, and no way they can "combine" it back. Moreover, the original exp is 2018, while the new one they returned is only one year from the canceled flight date ( june 2014).
As you know you can only use one certificate for one booking so the separated certificate with small face value make them difficult to use, beside the expiration date change.
Anyone has similar experience below, how shall I proceed with them? Thanks !
Web support is able to use multiple gift certificates for one reservation. Call them.
