How on earth are you qualified to talk about what the entire global population do or do not like to drink. Arrogance beyond measure.
Having worked in high end bars in 5 major citys around the world for best part of 9 years, done 21 different wine tasting courses in 3 different countries and hold a WSET level 5 honours diploma and since become a wine collector, i think i am able to express my opinion.

I believe about 2% of people i have ever served champagne to in a bar have ordered the drink because they enjoy drinking it over other drinks. The 98% are purely poseurs and those celebrating. I would say 2% of champagne drinkers know anything about champagne or could tell a bad one from a good one.

I aso look at global sales figures.
