you are most presumptive. and i do take offense. you sound like a wet behind the ears kid to me. with the exception of a 2 mile farm lane to one of the places we stayed, all roads were at least paved 2 lane with breakdown lanes. about half were 4 lane. sicily is apparently not like the place you live. we had a gps, and no problems. as soon as we got to Palermo, we dumped the car.
even though i am 77, i am somewhat alert. i play squash 3 days a week with a couple 3 others in their late 70's. i climb around 30 flights of stairs a day.i stopped racing bikes in central park shortly after i turned 68. a friend of mine who is also 77 is a ski instructor at Vail. my strength has begun to fail me. i can no longer can carry 50lb feed bags, and now buy 35 lb bags. not everyone is like the granddad you remember.
i do not find your comments offensive, only that you are an opinioniated fool.
