Same as HK. We had a cab company who tried taking Visa cards. The merchant bank provided it for free for the first year (2011) and even gave its cardholders who used those cabs 20% rebate. In January 2012, all the terminals have been torn out en masse.
We don't even get Octopus (EZ-Link). Well, I normally get those 85% taxis. It's a market economy.
