I also had my passport on me, as well as my Executive Membership card as I rent from National 2-3 times a month. Despite all this, I was flat out refused when I went to pick up my car reservation (which I even made on my companies corporate account). They said they need a real plastic license, no exception. Since it takes at least 2 weeks to make one of those, I was flat out of luck. I asked the guy at the counter (in Wichita,KS) if he could help me with alternate forms of transportation and his response was "I've never taken a cab in my life before."

Long story short, I ended up spending $800 dollars on cabs in the course of a week (the town I was going to was 250 miles away). I'll NEVER recommend National to ANYONE. Complete lack of empathy. They guy at the counter even said they had my active license on file (that they verify with the DMV) but they need a real license to do anything.

So, now I can't pay my bills on time this month due to a nice $800 fee on all the cabs I took to get around the middle of nowhere. THANKS NATIONAL.
