We are looking forward to having you spend time with us here at the Sheraton on the Falls. Niagara Falls is an exciting place to be at this time of the year. There are lots of activities for you and your loved ones to enjoy.
We recognize and value your Starwood status and as such wished to inform you ahead of time that the Sheraton Club Lounge will be at capacity due to the number of people that have pre-purchased these facilities, we will not be able to grant out Platinum Starwood Preferred Guest members Club access.
In recognising your Platinum status, the Front Desk will further upgrade you and one guest to the Fallsview Restaurant complimentary full buffet breakfast on us for each day the lounge is at capacity. If you please charge the breakfasts to your room folio, we will be happy to credit the amount of TWO adult breakfasts in lieu of the Continental service in the Club.
If you have any further questions, please email us directly at

I hope to be proved wrong but I have a feeling this email will now go to every Platinum guest irrespective of occupancy and who has both access. What a covert way to officially skirt around SPG rules.

Did I miss any mention of alternate evening hors d'ouveres in the bar, or say all day access to bottled water, sodas etc, or a specialty coffee maker when the lounge isn't available for Platinums... Pretty standard Sheraton lounge access inclusions IMHO...
I hope such claims by the Hotel is subjected to SPG's audit. The hotel has tried to push boundaries (in the past at least) to avoid delivering SPG benefits to guests, while reaping the benefits of SPG branding for themselves. Is this a new way they are gaming the system?
Btw, if the guest is given a choice to choose a full breakfast in lieu of lounge access, that is the choice of the guest. But by unilaterally forcing the guest to accept such arrangement to avoid providing for a proper lounge for SPG Plats, then I am not in agreement. However, there is no way we could verify if their lounges is full; only SPG is able to do so (i hope they are able to!).
