I don't even think or know if it is pilot error right now.
I was driving before one time and the stop light actually turned to red when it was supposed to be green but I saw this happen and did NOT get in an accident. In this case the signals malfunctioned.
In the case of this aircraft accident, I believe the same thing could have happened. Whether accidental or intentionally. We have seen cases where pilots have manipulated control systems, and we have also seen cases where a variety of causes have made aircraft incidents happen.
When it comes to widebody airplane investigations, and because of transfer between different countries a whole different set of rules apply than regards to regular air crashes.
Everyone seems to be chiming in here, but I haven't seen any certified 777 pilots openly talk about this incident who has also had simulator time who could duplicate these crash conditions. There are too many facts unknown and speculation by the media is hurting with selectively leaking various parts.
