September (late) you can pick up a A$1599 (around CAD 1360), round the world on LH/Star which allows you to do:

SYD-YVR (AC) [via HNL]

xx open jaw

YYZ-FRA (LH) - based on an open jaw, catching a filght from anywhere else in N/America that LH fly to, through to FRA. So you could buy your own fare YVR-YYZ (one way)
[alternatves are SYD-SFO or SYD-LAX on UA if you can get a cheaper LAXor SFO-YYZ one way - suggest you look at www.zuji.com.au for a fare you can buy intra n/america [ie westjet, UA etc] in Australia at reasonably similar rates to travelocity US] BTW - you could still do YVR-FRA if you didn't want to open jaw.

FRA-anywhere in Europe round trip to FRA that LH flies (if you want to do anymore than just this 1, an optional, +A$80 per additional sector)
FRA-SIN (or BKK, HKG or NRT)
SIN-SYD (SQ) or BKK-SYD (TG) or HKG-SYD (QF) or NRT-SYD (JL).

for more info see http://www.bestflights.com.au

Total miles - around 25,000 - well on your way for AC Elite requal.

Important notes - your QF and JL filghts back to AU will not count for miles on Aeroplan if you choose this.
