Quaffing Champagne not as popular as it used to be?

When I joined FT this forum was full of tales about drinking Champagne. In the lounges bubbly was downed from early morning - usually accompanied by bacon butties - to well into the evening when copious amounts had to be taken before boarding the overnight long hauls. Once on board our boozy forum regulars just couldn't get enough of the stuff.....with top-ups coming faster than a Murray serve. Now, judging by the lack of posts on the subject it would seem our love of the French bubbles has waned slightly.

So what's happened....did all the boozebags end up having to go to AA or have we just changed our drinking habits? Maybe some of the stories were exaggerated because one was expected to drink large amounts of Champagne when flying in BA premium cabins or when enjoying the perks of having status? Personally, although I do occasionally partake I'm really not a big fan of the stuff preferring a more gentlemanly G&T instead.

Here are some stats from the Champagne & Wine threads. This years figures so far seem to confirm my suspicions.
