Indeed. Bring on the mass surveillance, the internment camps, the suspension of constitutional rights, and the curfews! Anything for a little extra safety eh?

It's one thing to 'go with the flow' when pulled over for speeding. It's another thing to be forced to spend four days in a foreign transit zone without a passport and access to your embassy, and then be interrogated by US government officials. I'm pretty sure I (and any sane person) would want counsel present under those circumstances.
