I was just wondering how far in advance you'd need to call to get a couple of roundtrip tickets using the PlanAAhead awards...I call 2 days ago (before redeeming the points) to see if there was availability to travel to Colombia in December (5 months from now) and the agent told me that there was none....that with the points I have my only option was in APRIL 2014 Is 9 months normal? It seems they only want you to use the AAnytime awards at more than twice the cost! It's insane! Has anyone experience something like this? I would expect 2-3 months to be planning ahead but 9 months? common!
