Just posting up that we got those night rider flights and you have to watch the carry on weight of your luggage. It is strictly 7kgs even if you are gold elite. The gold elite carry on allowance is usually 14 kgs with one bag up to 10kgs.

However we got our carry on luggage weighed at checkin AND at the gate. You need to take one of those fold up nylon grocery shopping bags just in case they make you take out some stuff until your bag is under 7kgs.
I know we shouldn't have bought so much in Auckland but we hit some good shops down Ponsonby Road and couldn't resist...
