It's the flight from hell anyway- I have done it enough times so I don't envy you. Unfortunately the equipment swap is sufficiently regular to be a real PITA - plus it's more usually the overnight flight which seems to get hit - by far the biggest impact. I would say it happens about one flight in eight?

I guess you won't get anything for the swap in ET - but I have declined to take the shorthaul config flight twice when I was booked in CW, stayed in a hotel and travelled on the 747 the next morning. A day lost but one which would have been lost anyway had I had to "sleep" in CE for the 3 hours max you can get.

In terms of the compensation, I am not sure anyone has actually tested this but £150 is laughable when a CW seat can be best part of £2k return. As I said, I have just phoned the lovely GGL people and told them I am not flying till the next morning which seems to have worked!
