They used to do full 744 D checks at the MSP hanger facilities. Since they don't do much maintenance at MSP anymore I'm sure they are more than happy to lease out hanger space.
It's not using hangar space, it's sitting out front of one of the hangars.
And no, no new TPAC routes using 744. In fact, all the recent ones are currently using 767s. (LAX and SEA, no recent routes from the hubs.)
