Has anyone else noticed that the glass water bottles have been replaced with plastic ones (which I think look much less 'classy' and probably cost less) and that no Hilton in the past four I've been at in the UK in the last two weeks have biscuits with the kettle any more??
Now, don't get me wrong - a plastic bottle vs. a glass one and a couple of biscuits won't mean I'll be losing sleep any time soon but aren't these small devaluations just plain-and-simple penny-pinching? They begin to take the edge off Hilton for me anyway... I consider Hilton to be a solid mid-range brand but chipping at the edges of this images with these downgrades does nothing for me!
Was booked into a paid suite at Hilton Leeds City this weekend...and guess what, the 'welcome pack' as clearly advertised on the website wasn't there. I wasn't surprised. But I did speak to the manager and then miraculously the missing wine, chocolate, crisps and fruit did turn up. The FD said at first that the property didn't even STOCK these items any more (ridiculous!) and the manager confirmed that it is new policy to NOT have these items in the room - aparently someone somewhere should be updating the website to reflect the lastest (money-saving) changes and this cannot be done by each property indivudually.
Remember that Deluxe Plus room at Coventry I was busy moaning about a couple of weeks ago - the one that comes with "wine and chocolates" - well it DOESN'T and it's STILL being advertised as such.
I know, I know, life's too short - but false advertising and taking money for something not provided isn't good enough.......is it?
