I was in a similar situation the past week. We had 2 one ways and needed room for 5 plus luggage. Both times I picked the most expensive, which was the Tahoe or similar. The first time I ended up with a premium crossover, the 2nd time I found a SUV on the ES. Neither time was it questioned. FWIW the Suburban that I have seen have been nicely equipped, either LT or LTZ. The 2014 CG Limited is VERY nicely equipped and roomy. We had that on the way back. Some of the Premium crossovers, like the Enclave are roomy and comfortable.
