Thanks for the advice. I called AA and they said there are two flight locators for the trip. One for the out bound and one for the inbound. I have not seen this before.
When I logged in to BA for the outbound leg I could select my seats no problem, so that is great. It also had my AA details on there so all good.
So the strange part is that the outbound flight from LHR - SEA shows up on the return leg's locator but is unavailable for booking a seat. Not sure why it does that.
The other strange part is that on the AA site it only allows linking through to the second record locator, not the first. I am not sure if this is normal or not?
