When I traveled through Bosnia, Croatia, and Montenegro last time I used local currency but since I get hit with a $5 withdrawal fee (and % on exchange) every time I withdrew it really started to add up. Even just exchanging Euros at a forex on arrival works out to save a bit of cash.
