Actually based on recent posts, the "married segment" is probably being deliberately used to keep customers away from booking awards at low level - as this excuse has surfaced enough times recently that it is not an isolated incident of an incompetent / lazy agent, but a deliberate lie probably conjured up by the management to discourage award redemption at low level..
