My purchase was declined at first and I called to clear things up. I was honest and told them I was trying to take advantage of their rotating category and she was totally cool with it, and let the purchase go through.
Uhhh...you told the Chase rep that you were buying a gift card for the sole purpose of gaming their rewards system? Really?
Just tell them you're trying to buy a gift card if you need to...but there's no reason to bring lots of extra attention to exactly why you're doing it. They're not going to ask.
