Actually, he wasn't told it was free. He was initially told 15% discount. They challenged this and were subsequently told the wrong thing (free laundry) which the manager corrected.

What he ended up with is a 50% discount instead of 15%.

What I don't understand is the OP was told the correct info initially, then was unhappy with it, told the incorrect info when asking again, then when it was corrected, ended unhappy. Per the initial (correct) info, the OP was NEVER supposed to get free laundry. Why is the hotel in the wrong?
