With that said, I definitely agree with ArkansasTraveler's comment. If the OP was tired, it would have been much better to wait and deal with the issue later. Since the OP agreed to a 50% charge, that is what the OP should live with. If you weren't going to really accept the 50% charge, then don't agree to it and keep pursuing the issue.

Actually they were told it was a 15% discount, and used the old flyertalk thing of hang up and call back and try again. It's funny how that only seems to work when it's to the customer's advantage, after being told it was a 15% discount, hanging up and calling back to be told it's free, it must be free (totally ignoring the first response).

Guess what, hanging up and calling back sometimes doesn't work.
