I think it depends on whether you want a "throw-away" phone or something that you can use for a while. If you want to use it for a while, I would look for a phone in a department store or supermarket. If you get an international brand, there is a good chance the warranty will cover you after you get home.

The supermarkets might also be a good source for a throw-away phone.
