I thought as a OW Emerald member you'd want to benefit from seat assignments on BA. I understood you used your own Avios for the reservation. As it's a short flight, I wouldn't bother with seat assignments if you got somebody else to book the tickets for you using their points. Online check in is your best bet for seat assignments.
