Avios: We can't sell you this seat
Looked up availability on www.ba.com for an Avios booking from KUL to SIN.

Option given: MH non-stop with plenty of award seat available. Online system doesn't let me book it though: "Please call our service center".

Talked to the guys at EC: "We cannot sell you this seat. You need an international flight and you can then connect to this flight".

Has anyone experienced this before? This flight is MH operated by MH and MH has all the traffic rights and sells commercial tickets for that route.

When I asked what are the rules and regulations for what commercial flight I cannot use my Avios I got no answer.
