I assume you didn't start flying NH til the past 2 years ? As before then NH was still flying 744 international til end of 2010, last revenue route operated was NRT-CDG, and final flight was GUM-NRT on 2011/3/6.

86A/C on the upper deck is like exit row, but those seats are directly facing the stairs going down. Back then when NH converted some international 744 to domestic, since both JA401A and JA402A were international birds, 86A/C doesn't exist on international config, when they add those seats for domestic config, those seats were windowless.
