What does "pax" mean?" A new type of aircraft?

Yes, I know what PAX traditionally means, but I received a flight time change from Expedia that listed all of the flights on my itinerary. The aircraft designation included "Equipment: Boeing 787-8 pax" as well as "Equipment: Boeing 777 Jet." A Google search on "787 pax" brought up more than one item that seems to have "pax" appended onto the end of the model number. Is "pax" a designation for a new type of aircraft? Does the glossary need to include a lower-case pax in addition to the upper-case "PAX"?
