So Master yyznomad, how many minutes prior to departure is the sweet spot?
I'm not professing to be the master of timing, but I am usually spot on.
I personally find flightaware.com to be somewhat accurate on the departure time as it often shows intended departures that the status board doesn't. As such, for international flights I simply get to the gate based on the flightaware.com departure time minus 25 minutes. For domestic it is flightaware.com departure time minus 15 minutes.
I no longer follow the status board in the MLL.
