A denied boarding credit is actually a reservation with a ticket number issued on a fake flight. When you redeem that credit, they book you in that fake reservation and reissue the ticket and collect the difference. Because the reservation was created when your denied boarding credit was originally given to you, there's no option to add another person to a reservation. Unfortunately, there's no way around this one.
