I'm an ex-pat that travels extensively with global entry and my wife and 2 daughters (non-GE) are traveling back to the US for the first time since moving abroad. A couple months ago when I flew back to the US into IAH, I think it would have taken 2 hrs to clear normal immigration and customs with the lines, but it was the worst I'd ever seen. With GE, it takes me about 20 minutes from when I step off the plane until I've collected my checked bags and am sitting in the rental car shuttle bus.

I'm trying to figure out how to minimize the time going through immigration and customs for my family. If I send my wife and daughters (toddler and baby) through the one stop line with carry on luggage only (diaper bag and a couple of backpacks) and I go through GE and then collect all of our checked baggage and then meet up in the lobby by passenger pick-up/shuttle buses will that cause any issues?

I think it's the quickest way to get through, but I'm not sure what they'll think of my wife and two small girls with no luggage. Is it ok for them to tell them that I'm GE and have the baggage?
