I had 800s twice over the past weekend, and boarded early enough to have my pick of seats. IMHO, the only "good" exit row seats in an 800 are the "infinite legroom" ones, and then only if 1) you don't need the tray table; and 2) you don't need the width that's removed to put the tray table into the armrest. I'm not sure if what you're noticing is slant like the older planes, or just that the Evolve seat is closer to the floor now.

On 700s, I head directly to the exit row... but on an 800 I generally pick a window seat anywhere after about row 7-8 or so.
