Seems to be a regular thing, where I am in a long, slow-moving queue at EDI to check bags and invariably the agents will yell for various flights, moving people to the front of the queue.

I wonder what my incentive is to actually show up on time, if I can skip the queues if I cut it close to my flight time?

Underlying complaint is that queues at EDI are too long, too often. It's time for a truly self-tagged, bag drop only queue, instead of full-service check in at all desks at all times.
