I don't get it-why is it 50k on United's site but 163k on US
I posted this in master thread about mileage booking help but thought some Us expert could explain to me why on United Award travel the same flight is 50k but on Us its 163k?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a cruise that I want to go on that departs Venice on May 29, 2014 and returns to Rome on June 10,2014. I have 335000 Dividend miles and in the past have been able to get business/envoy seats for 100k each roundtrip.
I just started looking even though the return is not open yet and was shocked that US is wanting up to 162k each way- what happened to those
50k seats? (I now know why they keep trying to get me to buy miles ) so I figured I would look at United and saw that Swiss flies out of Boston which I could get on 5/26 for 50k each the return is not open yet but looking at the 4th it appears if the scenario stays the same I should be able to get the 10th or 11th for 50k.
I checked out of Hartford and interestingly enough if I had United miles I could fly UsAir on the 26th and return on the 4th for 50k each. I don't get it why would a partner award ticket work on UsAir but not booking direct?
My husband would rather go out of BDL than BOS but I am not buying miles to do that. Has anyone flown Swiss? How is their business product? I have fibromyalgia and really need a comfortable seat for long flights. I know I have to wait another week for the return to open up but am wondering if I am missing any other combination and if anyone knows why on UsAir's site the seats are 163k each but on United they are only 50k as a partner reward. Can I book partner reward travel on UsAir lol?
